Existen modelos de 2 pulgadas de ese modelo incluso antes que se llamara modelo 10, los Military & Police. Incluso aqui en el foro se han vendido algunos M&P pre-model 10. El primer Snub Nose de este modelo se presento durante la II Guerra Mundial (el llamado Victory) a peticion de las fuerzas armadas de USA.

El resto de cambios de los numeros Dash de los modelos 10 son apenas inperceptibles para el usuario normal. Se les llama genericamente como modelos 10, y ya siendo mas especifico por epoca (si se sabe la epoca y los cambios de ingenieria casi inperceptibles) ya se mencionan con el numero dash.
